It could be argued that, if it wasn’t for Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor and their exploits riding BMW GS bikes around the world, the whole adventure motorcycling craze would have taken a lot longer to get off the ground. Yes, it would have happened eventually but it was the Long Way Round and Long Way Down TV programmes and books that sparked a thousand adventure dreams and drove adventurous types to bike showrooms and manufacturers to develop ever more capable bikes.
Charley Boorman needs no other introduction and he has spent his life since those mad adventures riding bikes all over the world and writing fantastic books about them. And now he is heading to Cape Town to entertain a live audience with his own particular brand of story-telling, in association with Triumph Motorcycles.
He will be appearing at the Market Hall at Grand West Casino in Goodwood, Cape Town on August 28th, the show starting at 7:30pm.
